Holy schmoly! I've seriously not blogged on here since the end of October? SHEESH!
The good news is, although it looks as if I've given up on the bloggy thing, I'm still working hard at #myforeverjourney. So let's play catch up, yes?
Since blogging last, I went through Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. I'm proud to say I made it through the holidays without having a melt down. If I remember correctly, Halloween was easy for me. My husband gave out bubble gum which has a zero temptation rating for me, and I went to an Aggie Basketball game that night.
We hosted Thanksgiving here at our house with my Brother and his family coming over, along with my Mother in law and Brother in law. Thanksgiving dinner itself was great. I didn't feel deprived. In fact I felt triumphant when I loaded my plate with protein and veggies, a small dab of mashed potatoes and stayed completely away from the hot rolls. It helped that I was uber lazy and only made Rhodes rolls this year vs. homemade, but I kind of did that on purpose. :) Now....let's fast forward to about 8 p.m. Thanksgiving night. I always make a lemon cheesecake pie and I figured out the points on the recipe builder and knew that a 12 point slice of pie on Thanksgiving day would be WORTH IT!!! Oh gosh was it good!!! But then....I had a second slice. You might say "AH! WHAT? SHAME ON YOU!" I would have said that too, but guess what?.... I tracked it, and in my book it's only "illegal" if you don't track it. PLUS on Weight Watchers you are given some extra weekly points and so of course I was going to use them on Thanksgiving. When I woke up on Friday morning, the first thing I did was write a note to place on top of the pie reminding me that the holiday was over and I couldn't have anymore. And that was the end. I totally enjoyed my Thanksgiving holiday, but it was just that....a Holi-DAY! You'll notice that on my weigh in day after Thanksgiving I had a small gain. I was actually ok with it.
Next up. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
We again stayed home and had my Mother in law and Brother in law over. We went sledding, played games, watched movies, went on a Christmas light scavenger hunt among other things. None of our Christmas Eve plans revolved around food. We did have a nice Christmas eve dinner of Carnitas, veggies, chips and salsa, and cupcakes thanks to a neighbor bringing over a goodie that afternoon. I had totally spaced any sort of dessert so that was great for those that wanted a little treat. Christmas Day was the traditional Bagels, cream cheese, juice and milk for breakfast. Did you know that Bubbas bagels makes a skinny bagel? And I LOVE the Greek cream cheese. It was nice to be able to stick with traditions as well as stick to a health plan. On Christmas night we went out to my Mom and Pops' house and had Christmas ham, salads, and the fixin's Again...success! Especially because I lost weight over Christmas! HOLLA!
New Years. We were invited to a neighbors home, but Dustin had to work NYE, so we ended up staying home. Dustin actually got home earlier than expected so we enjoyed the last night of the year as a family. We had Papa Murphy's pizza, salad and garlic bread. Again...a small gain after New Years. Probably too much of the fizzy that week. BUT-YUM!
So here's catch up on my weigh in days over the holidays.
