"To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don't need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself."
I have been learning in weight watchers to LOVE ME! To be ok with giving myself the care and attention and acceptance I deserve. This is not easy.
We had an assignment that was HARD!!! We were asked to write our name vertically, and come up with a positive attribute using the letters in our name. OH! MY! WORD! It was sooooo hard. The only thing I could think of were far from positive. Luckily I had some friends help me out, and give me some words. Granted I didn't feel like the words they gave me described me, but everyone is their own worst critic, right? I was flattered by some of the things I was told that described me.
Amazing
Neat
Go getter
Imaginative
Entertaining
For the last week and a few days, I have been thinking about this. Why is it so hard to see the good in ourselves? I could tell everyone I come in contact with on a daily basis, a positive attribute about them, but to myself...I can only find faults.
I've noticed that loving myself (not in a boastful way) but in an "I matter" way, makes me happier. And so I've been writing down things about me that make me realize although I'm not perfect, I have some pretty good things about me. Basically what I'm saying is...I'd date me :)
